Meet our new Executive Director

The Board of Directors of Mother Brook Arts and Community Center (MBACC) is excited to announce that Erin Becker has been appointed as Executive Director. Erin brings over twenty years of experience as a leader in the non-profit art world. Most recently, she has served as the Norma Jean Calderwood Director of the Cambridge Art Association. Erinhas a passion for creating welcoming accessible spaces for all artists, while engaging the community in exploring artistic opportunities. Erin's experience and energy will be invaluable in leading MBACC to the next level.

As Erin states, “After 12 years working on the presenting side of the visual arts world, I look forward to leading a center of creative production as the next Executive Director of Mother Brook Arts and Community Center. My overarching goal is a simple one: to bring the best out of MBACC. In my first year, I plan to welcome the community back to the MBACC and position the center as a place where all are welcome, and all belong. Working with the Board of Directors and program leaders, I hope to expand on past successes, and work to bring in new programs to serve artists of all ages and backgrounds. Success will look like a revived, refreshed, buzzing center of creativity in East Dedham.”

Erin holds a BA in Art History from Boston University; a certificate from Boston University’s Institute for Nonprofit Management Leadership Core Program at Questrom Business School; and a certificate from the Cultural Equity Learning Community. She lives in Dorchester with her husband Andy.

Erin will be on hand at MBACC's upcoming Open Studios on December 7 and 8 to meet and discuss her vision for Mother Brook Arts and Community Center.
