Terry Boutelle

Having studied psychology, literature, philosophy, theology, and art history at Boston College in the 70s, these areas of interest, combined with a strong connection with nature, have informed Boutelle’s artwork. She explores them through her images of northern forests and birch trees as well as explorations of migration and climate change.

She earned her MFA degree in painting at the MassArt Low Residency Masters program at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, MA. She teaches acrylic painting at Mother Brook and at the Eliot School of Fine and Applied Arts in Jamaica Plain. Solo exhibits include “Coastlines” at the Newton Free Library, “Remembrance” at Andover Newton Theological School, “A Forest in Mind” at the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University, and “Treescapes” at VCC Gallery at Bentley College. Her work is in public and private collections throughout eastern U.S.
