Full Tilt Print Studio
Full Tilt Print Studio is a cooperative not-for-profit printmaking studio with 20+ members. For over 50 years, the studio has attracted strong, innovative printmakers who share equipment, resources, and a passion for prints in a supportive atmosphere. Short term residencies expand and enrich the Full Tilt community.
The studio began in 1970 as Experimental Etching Studio (EES) and by 1983 it evolved into the cooperative EES Arts. As members were exploring printmaking techniques beyond etching, the name was changed to Full Tilt Print Studio, a name that reflects not only the group’s creativity, but its collective drive and energy.
Studio members create collaborative portfolios every 5 years. Each box contains a curated collection of prints by many artists, demonstrating various printmaking techniques and interpretations of a theme. These portfolios are in the collections of many institutions, from Boston to Brazil, and their sales help sustain the studio.
During Open Studios, Full Tilt Print Studio shares artwork by its members, displays collaborative portfolios, and presents educational printmaking demonstrations for the greater community to enjoy.
